Running Scared

Pros

From the outside looking in everything looks great-nice office lay out in Sunnyvale and good location next to light rail-decent salary and perks- and appearance of intelligent people who work well together-

Cons

The WORST work environment ever-new ideas & new employees are harshly scrutinized and second guessed-makes you scared to open your mouth and makes you wish you never said anything or tried to improve anything. HR is no help at all. It is a very lonely and isolating work environment. They say they are desperate for new technology, better customer experience and employee programs but the executive committee and middle managers make it extremely difficult to get anything done...LOTS of forms to fill out and committees to impress if you want to present a new idea. Seems that the tedious "corporate strategy meetings" never end and nothing ever changes as a result. If you've got a good resume take your skills and good attitude and work somewhere else-

A Truly Fantastic Company

Pros

Employees make a career with this company. Low turnover rate Family/ Work Life balance emphasis Observe Government Holidays & NYSE Holidays and office closings Observe Fairfax County School closing for inclement weather Quiet and clean work environment Received an unexpected bonus every year, based off of performance. Significant 1:1 interaction with manager, directors, VP's and CEO. Ric is a very intelligent and well spoken CEO, who understand all aspects of the business and trusts those in decision making positions. Very competitive 401K matching - strongly encourages all employees to plan for their future. Most employees take a lunch break or get away from their desk every day. Seasoned and Experience employees

Cons

Compensation for Non-Financial Planners could be a bit more competitive. With little turnover, promotions are a bit less regular.

Pros

Great benefits. Lots of really great colleagues. Many opportunities to build on skill set. Very nice office space. Company has a good understanding of work/life balance.

Cons

Salaries seem low for the industry and for the area. Some amount of disconnect between upper management and lower level workers. Advancing can be a tedious process.
