Pros

You gain great experience super quickly Exposed to some very smart senior people who can teach you loads - very approachable Salaries are not bad (if you fight for them) Great line management Great career progression International opportunities Great, diverse and quirky clients Ability to work on accounts that interest you Flexible working hours

Cons

Rather political Long working hours cause people to leave - if more people are recruited, people will have less work and can have a better work/life balance Bonuses are not great (but are not as bad as other agencies) Rather corporate

Pros

There is incredible talent at Edelman and the people are the best part about the job. I can only comment on the Corporate team, who are very supportive of each other and have a great team culture making for a rewarding and fun working environment, which is crucial in the fast faced and very demanding environment of a top PR (or marketing communications as we now are) agency. Corporate has recently come under new management and is thriving. Edelman offers a chance to work with some big household names on big budgets making for interesting and varied work. There are excellent opportunities for career development, ample training options, and good perks including annual and spot bonuses, high annual leave and summer and Christmas team/agency parties.

Cons

Edelman London is a large agency with single teams of more than 80 people which dictates a lot of it culture, and isn't for everyone. At the fast pace of agency life it's easy for some people to become lost. There are quite different cultures across the different teams so it's worth trying to speak to someone on your specific team to see if you think it's the right fit. Junior members should expect to work early and/or late hours relatively often and have more accounts than they can really successfully handle. People do appreciate this is a problem and are supportive of juniors but essentially it is expected for a few years. A lot of people come to Edelman because it is international. This allows you to have experience working with teams across the network which is great, but bar a very small (12 ppl globally), competitive programme which relocates you for one year there really aren't opportunities to move abroad that easily unless you have been there a long time (5+ years) and have proven your loyalty.

Pros

Lively working atmosphere, good teams, nice offices, good range of clients and brands to work on. Depth of experience to learn from others.

Cons

An intensely hours driven culture, sometimes verging on "sweatshop" mentality, some greater flexibility would really help those that commute significant distances
