Pros

I've worked at several PR agencies, large and small (boutique). Have never worked with a smarter, mored dedicated and understanding group of pros. Salary and benefits are strong as are opportunities for advancement.

Cons

Like all large agencies one can feel like a small part of a larger organism so it's help to you to engage.

Pros

You get to work with some of the best in the business across various areas of PR, including crisis, digital, consumer, healthcare, etc. I had direct interaction with clients from the first week that I started. Senior employees definitely want junior and mid-level employees to rise quickly, and they empower them to do so. I was given multiple opportunities to own projects from the very beginning, and I love that I get to work with such a passionate group of people on a daily basis. Assert yourself quickly and develop an expertise within your team -- you'll have a much more fulfilling experience that way! Overall, the leadership at Edelman is top-notch, and the values and mission that Richard Edelman set for the firm permeate every level of the business.

Cons

The salaries are very low, and I took a significant pay cut to work here. Maintaining a decent work-life balance is ALWAYS a challenge given the nature of the industry and the hours that junior and mid-level employees are expected to work. I regularly clocked 12-hour days for my first few months at the company, and I doubt that I'll ever work less than 10.5 hours/day moving forward.

Pros

Extremely friendly, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Competitive pay, lots of perks like breakfast, fruit, thirsty Thursdays and ice cream Fridays. How you behave is a part of the evaluation so jerks don't last too long. They also encourage - but do not always follow - a reasonable life-work balance. Work from home is also a consistent possibility to deal with this.

Cons

Lots of hours at the behest of not-so-friendly dysfunctional clients. Weekend and holiday work possible.
