Pros

Great peers, interesting opportunities if you can find them, solid benefits, 4pm Fridays, good employee resource groups

Cons

Senior leadership is disconnected from account teams--employees are nothing but numbers to the C-suite. There is no clear vision for the company as a whole. Promotions and merit increases are practically nonexistent. Favoritism plays a major role in who gets assigned what projects (read: the same people are put on the "cool," high-profile projects, which leaves no learning opportunities for junior folks.) Review season is notoriously complicated and stressful--the review system was changed at least 3 times in the past 5 years--and managers never seem to know what's going on with their direct reports' career trajectory. Bottom line: Edelman created and upholds a stressful, unbalanced environment: rewarding leaders who have exhibited bad behavior, stringing along talent with false promises of an upward career trajectory, and encouraging work/life balance while silently expecting employees to work long hours.

Pros

- Highly engaged junior team members, often helpful and invested middle management - Diverse product offerings and wide client range ensure extensive learning opportunities - International client work offers exposure to varied experiences and gives option of gaining cross-regional experiences

Cons

- Long hours and, at times, crushing work load - Inconsistent guidance and strategy by senior management makes long term planning difficult - (In 2022/23) Frequent lay-offs and uncertainty about employment add to stress of the job and make work allocation more difficult - Lack of straightforward and timely internal communication by senior management breeds culture of distrust and anxiety

Pros

There were no pros about this company.

Cons

The training was not good. They hosted one training for all new hires. Meaning if you were a hired as a Project Manager you would sit in training with a Financial Analyst. Two very different roles that do two completely different job. Also, due to the lack of training other departments had no idea how to perform their tasks. This caused an issue with for the employees who indeed knew how to perform their tasks.
