Pros

Best reasons to work here include: Very intelligent and pro-active management that tends to have come to work for the company for the right reasons. None of the grand-fathering into management positions seen here, which is rare. Excellent trust levels to get your work done, but accountability is always in place, so you can put your brilliant strategies to work on big name clients, but if that other guy's lousy idea fails you won't be blamed for it, he will. Knowledge sharing is encouraged and highly valued. I was surprised particularly in the world of PR that there was no miserly hoarding of intel or secretive action going on within account teams. Again, that knowledge sharing. Good stuff.

Cons

If you're used to the high agency life, it's a little less lavish here. Not so many freebies, great clients but few outings and the work culture is professional in every way including social conduct. Don't go here for a bro-down, and they drink at 3pm on Fridays but don't expect anyone to hang around the office after the bell rings.

Pros

smartest, most creative people in the industry. period. you will never stop learning here. marquee clients. ability to shape-shift and take on new roles if you ask for them. opportunities to engage with senior-level executives best global network - when you need someone in Jakarta at a moment's notice, we've got that.

Cons

there can be a lack of collaboration between P&Ls or geographies. easy to burn out if you don't actively manage work/life balance. sometimes the entrepreneurial spirit can result in the need to constantly innovate new processes and tools just for the sake of it.

Pros

Edelman allows for flexibility in your schedule. There are no micro managers here, everyone knows what they need to get done and they do it. Though, the leadership here is excellent so if you do need assistance or direction, they are there. Also, it is an extremely creative agency where big ideas are dreamed up and executed. We are true partners with our clients.

Cons

I really don't see a downside. As with any large agency, there are certain processes and procedures (like common review) that could be improved upon but HR is very receptive to ideas and are always trying to improve. The printers seem to always have issues. Small gripe.
