Pros

Stimulating work, fun environment, and great people

Cons

Training is insufficient. My manager would rather not train me and take home the work than give me the responsibilities that she hired me for. She is toxic and rude. The company is email driven and is a culture shock. The pay is not competitive and the benefits are middle of the road. The only reason that this is a company to work for is the name on the resume.

I'm sorry to hear that despite liking the work, colleagues and environment your experience is colored more impactfully by a feeling that you're lacking adequate attention from your manager. I encourage you to reach out to local HR or to me to help work thorough this. While nothing can replace on-the-job training, I do hope you'll also explore our extensive library of on-demand training available via ELI. You can reach me at maria.okeeffe@edelman.com. Pros

I'm in LA. Great leadership team. Great client list. Good momentum. Transparent about performance and what is happening in the network and the industry. We're proud of our performance.

Cons

Pace is fast and at times can be hard to keep everyone up with expectations. It's hard to quickly access new resources and hiring in our market can be slow. Seems to be hard to find good talent to join in the market.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. The LA office is a wonderful community and it's great to hear what you're experiencing as an employee there. I agree with you that finding excellent talent is a challenge, and not just in L.A.. Rest assured that part of why it takes time is ensuring we have the very best fit possible. And I agree our pace is fast. We're always looking for ways to manage that reality effectively and efficiently. If you every have ideas, feel free to share them with me! Pros

Edelman is a fantastic place to begin a career, especially if one's boss is an active advocate for their professional development. You will meet people and have a host of experiences that can propel one's career -- clients come to Edelman with interesting and unique problems, and there are genuinely smart people to call colleagues to tackle these problems. Day-to-day, it's generally a pleasure to work at Edelman in Washington, D.C..

Cons

The insurance is downright horrible and our deductible has gone up rather significantly (good luck finding a doctor for something as simple as a physical accepting new patients that accepts it), so are the 401K benefits, which vests after 3 years at a maximum of 60 percent matching (up to 4 percent of salary), which is not competitive. Pay increases has not kept pace with the increase of costs of medical/other costs.

Thank you for your feedback and I'm happy to hear you've had a great start to your career! Feedback is important to us and I appreciate that you've brought up our insurance programs. I'm pleased to share that we recently finished a U.S wide benefit survey and focus groups. Information we gathered, along with benchmarking data, helps us shape our benefit offerings and strategies. For what it's worth, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. There are some inaccuracies in your comment, so I would encourage to reach out to your HR team for clarification. If you are open to discussing, your HR team would be happy to go over all of our benefit offerings in more detail. Maria O'Keeffe, Executive Director, US HR
