Pros

Working as a substitute teacher with EduStaff has been a deeply rewarding experience, especially due to their strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. EduStaff fosters a work environment where respect for diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences is at the forefront. In every school and classroom I’ve been assigned, I feel empowered to support and celebrate each student’s unique identity, learning style, and needs. The flexibility EduStaff offers has allowed me to engage with a wide range of students across different communities, which has expanded my understanding of cultural and educational diversity. Each assignment provides the opportunity to learn from students, colleagues, and staff, and I’m consistently impressed by EduStaff’s dedication to promoting a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all. EduStaff not only values diversity in the classroom but also supports substitute teachers by providing resources and guidance on creating inclusive learning environments. The training materials and communication from EduStaff emphasize cultural sensitivity and adaptive teaching approaches, helping me to be more effective and inclusive in my role. Overall, EduStaff’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has been a standout part of my experience. It’s empowering to work with an organization that values every individual’s background and strives to ensure all students and educators feel respected and supported. This emphasis on inclusivity has enriched my professional journey and has made EduStaff an exceptional choice for substitute teaching.

Cons

A few areas could be improved to make the experience even better. For instance, while I appreciate the flexibility and the range of assignments, sometimes there’s limited information provided ahead of time about the specific needs or dynamics of each class. A bit more detail on lesson plans or student expectations would make the transition smoother and ensure I can provide the best support right from the start. Additionally, because EduStaff serves many different schools, each with its own culture and expectations, it can take time to adjust to new environments. Although this offers valuable learning experiences, more preparatory resources or insights about each school could help substitutes adapt more quickly. Overall, EduStaff is a great choice for those who value flexibility, diversity, and personal growth. The commitment to inclusion is clear, and I feel well-supported. With a bit more pre-assignment information and support, the experience would be even more seamless.

Pros

Influencing different types of young people for all ages K-12. This allows more flexibility to hit different ages all in one year, compared to be with one grade level all year.

Cons

When you sub for a great class, sometimes I wish I could special request being in that class.

Pros

The pay is tolerable, but not for the amount of issues that you experience dealing with incompetent administration by the schools. This company is horrendous. If you enjoy being backstabbed by them, and continuously harassed by false reports or complaints when you follow protocol.

Cons

No appeal process for being excluded from a school district. No support from human resources when you are blamed for student behavior. I have been threatened with assault by students, yet I am the one who isn't allowed to work. Students complained that I was mean, so I was removed from all assignments from the Medford School District.
