Pros

If you do the work you will be successful n this job.

Cons

There is tremendous mental pressure for you to succeed. You need to have prior experience as an entrepreneur and accept the fac tthat you will face multiple counts of rejection as you seek to build your business.

Pros

Independent atmosphere You can partipate alot in firm training, hiring, leadership or choose not to (the smart ones choose not too) Trips Schedule Good people work there Good entry to business They will make a prospecting machine out of you.

Cons

No retirement or solid sunset plan in place (this is why you have 73 year old advisors still going to work to churn 1 or 2 accounts each day and working for 5 hours a week) they wont pay them to retire. Play favorites on office handouts (i remember specifically when they gave some 22 year old 200million and then had the nerve to put him on the front of the uptick and tell the whole firm how great he was) i know it pissed alot of people off in that region and state (ohio, i think) Promise of LP is BS. i was seg 4, hired 13 advisors, field trained 12 advisors and my BOA was a partner and i was NOT! Reaseach stinks considering how much of you pay goes to the home office Buy and hold- does not mean buy and forget. I could go on, but my blood pressure is rising. Last thing-- if you think you have great friends at jones, leave and see if they are still your friend. Once you leave you are the enemy. lack of investment knowledge in training.

Pros

Great company to work for if you are placed in a good market. They definitely give you all the training you need. Great experience.

Cons

Door to Door prospecting. Most Financial Advisors in the firm are too busy to help whenever you call upon them. They do not help you build your book of business at all.
