Pros

Great training program long as you do the reading. Very good training, alot of product knowledgement given to you. Plenty of peer support

Cons

You gotta go out and get your own customer. Edward Jones gives you everything you need to provide for and maintain the client, what they don't give you is the client. You gotta get the client. The only suggestion they have for you to get them is to door-knock. and the doorknocking is forced on you so don't even think about avoiding it. You have no office your first year, you work off a labtop.

Pros

It's a great place to learn the basics of the investing world and very basic sales technicques. You set your own schedule and as long as you're producing at the expected levels it will feel like you're working truly for yourself.

Cons

it is however, not a place where you can expect to serve high net worth or ultra high net worth individuals or institutions because of a rather limited product selection.

Pros

Run your own business with the support of a large private firm with a client first focus. Partnership separates us from having to impress shareholders. Our only focus is the client. Dedicated assistants, our own office, amazing support from a company with amazing integrity and ethics. The fact management didn't allow the high risk mortgage securities much of the industry sold to their clients is a number one reason to be here.

Cons

It's not for everyone. Low producers would be better working for an insurance company from their home or in a large office where they can blend in and produce at a small level. If you're a hobby financial advisor looking for part time work, Jones isn't for you.
