Pros

The fellow associates are definitely a positive. The company does a great job fitting associates to a positive corporate culture.

Cons

The Service division is described as a contact center, but it is absolutely a call center in every way. You are judged by your ability to adhere to a computer generated schedule. Your breaks, lunch, and even email reading time is determined by data points that you have no control over. Your development professionally will be stunted. If you have any plans to grow into a job with the corporate or financial industry do not take a job with the Service division.

Pros

Good money if you stay long enough.

Cons

15 years, then talked into leaving when my chronic illness made it hard to work a full week. Wanted to do 3 days, but FA didn't want that. Replaced by full time BOA and one part time doing 3 days a week!

Pros

Unlimited earning potential with a very well known and respected firm. Other advisors truly want to see you become successful.

Cons

The same people that want you to be successful will turn their back to you at the drop of a hat. Complete utter disconnect between the home office and the field. HR is a complete disorganized mess. You are told how great their "training" is and they have such a high pass rate for the licensing. What you aren't told is the home office will terminate you if don't have scores on your practice exams where they are confident you will pass, meaning many people hired will be terminated before being allowed to take and tests. Very misleading and never disclosed during the recruitment process. My study line specialist was rarely available and was more concerned with preparing for his own exam prep. When I did get in touch with him he was completely inconvenienced by doing his job. The material is vast and goes into great detail. Terminology is used in the practice exams that is nowhere in the material. I'm not sure how you can be expected to pass a practice exam the first time when this is the norm. They don't want critical thinkers - they want people that can memorize and push numbers. Kind of scary when you realize these are the people who are trusted as advisors.
