Pros

Seem to be fairly reasonable about work life balance, but that all depends on your department and leader. Profit sharing is a nice bonus.

Cons

To assume you can make decisions, have people listen to you, be creative or have any amount of fun at your job is a stretch. Having a personality and/or think outside the box is not encouraged here. We all sacrifice and are expected to do more with less so the super high ups can keep on getting their millions in bonuses.

Pros

Great initial training. Makes testing easy. Good training at Home Office. But never criticize the company for it is the "best place to work"......just ask them.

Cons

In order to eat you must recommend / push high expense mutual funds, which goes against doing the best for your customer. So you have to live with yourself not doing the best for your customer. If you don't care and push the mutual fund of the month, drink the koolaid, believe the hype and you will do well. New hires watch your backs.

Pros

Edward Jones is a great place to get your feet wet in the financial services industry. They do a great job of training you to get your licenses and pay you through the process. There are also a lot of great people at the Home Office.

Cons

Sales model is very old school and not as effective for keeping new hires on board with the company. Door to door sales will be your primary job for the first couple of years and from my experience most people do not prefer to do business that way, yet Edward Jones requires it. Green screens are also very outdated, but I guess get the job done.
