Pros

Very flexible schedule. Company and management really does care about you as a person. Culture is very strong and very customer focused. Unlimited potential for the right person with the right drive.

Cons

Very tough business. Business model of door knocking is a little outdated. Working in one man office can be very lonely, especially when market is not performing as it should like the 2008-2009 time period. Advisors can quickly burn out if they don't figure out other ways of generating clients.

Pros

Company paid for licensing and training

Cons

Pressured to sell to prospects who do not need muni bonds or American Funds. All your field rep / regional manager cares about is you making sales, not about what is best for the prospects. Have a good network of family and friends who you can sell to to make it through the lean times.

Pros

They provide you a very good training precess and covers all the training costs. Fly you to either St Louis or Tempe for sales training. Provide you hotel room and food...

Cons

Prepare to work VERY hard, and door knocking isnt for everyone.
