Pros

Strong training program paid licensing. Lots of assistance from other FA's the potential is there if you have the strength to get to it.

Cons

The plan involves door to door knocking day in and day out. Saturday included. Days can include up to 12 hour days. Strict to the numbers.

Pros

Tons of freedom if you're successful.

Cons

You need to make sure you start your career with Edward Jones in the most beneficial branch location. This is typically done in taking over a vacated office. There is no guarantee you an office near you will be vacated when you want one. Beware the New/New from home starting method unless you don't care about income for the first two years.

Pros

Name recognition - one of the bigger firms Flexible Schedule Good professional/personal life balance Autonomous Office Great Training Invests in new hires

Cons

Very little financial planning for clients and prospects, more product pushing/sales, door-knocking (somewhat effective but very old fashioned and archaic), little time to prove success.
