Pros
There can be a great culture, depending on who you work with. In a small office, you still have opportunities to meet others in your region. The benefits are great: HSA matching, profit sharing, limited partnership (select folks), 401k match, insurance, Virgin Pulse health incentives.
Cons
If you work with an advisor who doesn’t appreciate you, it can be rough. If you start with a higher level advisor, you will make bonuses. But people (like me) can work five years and never make a bonus because the advisor is not profitable yet. It’s not really fair. Starting pay is pretty low, too, for the wealth of knowledge you have to learn!
