Pros

Edward Jones offers quality training for any position. Great benefits. Friendly Co-workers. Working with Clients

Cons

Unless you have an advisor willing to ask for higher pay for you, don't expect to make more than the minimum for BOA's. There are no incentives to BOA's where as the Financial Advisors are awarded with (mostly) paid for trips, extravagant dinners with Product Partners and Regional Meetings. Also, if you have issues with your advisor my advice is to keep it to yourself. Home Office with go to bat for the FA in almost every circumstance. Their best advice to BOA's who are struggling is to 'become an Advisor'

Pros

Edward Jones is a great firm. They truly believe in giving back to the community and if your in a department that follows they're responsibility based management philosophy...it's great!

Cons

Even though it's a private firm and not beholden to shareholders....they are beholden to the general partners of the firm. And if you're unlucky enough to work under a general partner who's just in it for the money, it can be miserable. Also...they brag about how 'nice' they are....but there are lots of people in the firm who are back stabbing ladder climbers and will do anything to bring you down if they think you're in the way
