Pros

Stable industry, low chance of layoffs even in recessions

Cons

There is little to no advancement opportunities for many Home Office associates. The review process is completely arbitrary, so if your boss doesn't like you, you will not get a good review even if your work is clearly above that of others. Everyone in the field hates the Home Office and everyone at the Home Office hates the field. Financial Advisors treat Service Specialists like dirt because they know we have no power and they think they can walk all over us to get what they want. Pay is very low compared to other finance firms

Pros

-They pay a salary well you study for exams -Product partners that work with Jones are top notch and will be your main support on just about all aspects of your business.

Cons

- They pride themselves on their training program, but the program provides virtually no applicable information on products. It's basically generic sales training that can be obtained from any company. -They pride themselves on a "culture of support" but your fellow advisors are just as cut-throat as you would expect. Company rarely extends any sort of support the the advisors in the field. Really the only support you will have are your product partners, but that begs the questions of why you would bother with a big firm if they won't be there for help. -They company isn't sure how to handle their own growth. They hired a surplus of advisors over the past 5 years, but haven't been willing to build new office locations in order to house the advisors. So many of us are stuck working from home after being sold on the promise of having a business location of our own. -The base salary is incredibly low after the study period. You are eased into a commission style pay structure, but you are extremely underpaid until your assets under management rise significantly compared to other firms that run the same style of training program.
