Great Fraternity Culture; Average Pay; Bit of Nepotism; No Real Job Security

Pros

Great fraternity culture with many activities and outings at bars/restaurants, which leads to great employee camaraderie. Great work/life balance as with most public accounting firms.

Cons

Pay is not great compared to comparable positions at other firms in the region having worked/interned at a couple other firms or have friends who work at other firms. Easy to identify who is on the up-and-up versus way out. Been known to fire employees without notice or during semi-annual reviews on an annual basis so there is no job security. Bit of nepotism - hiring of employees' or clients' kids

Pros

Great, smart and driven people to work with. Lots of opportunity and flexibility to work on different teams and clients.

Cons

Having smaller clients = work piles on quick if you dont wrap up the job from the week before, of course there was some politics but thats like every job. Not much work life balance but its public accounting so its expected.
