Great work environment and coworkers

Pros

Great culture and coworker environment. There is a significant emphasis on having fun while working hard. You get hands on experience and exposure to most industries your first year.

Cons

Seniors get hammered with crazy workloads, which is common for public accounting. You don't get public company experience unless you are on the banking jobs.

Let you grow as an individual and open to ideas for how to grow your career and what direction you would like to take

Cons

sometime the "firm" slows things down and by being governed by the "firm" some aspects of different departments don't match up with that of the rest of said industry

Pros

I was able to be on many different types of clients and see a lot of different accounting issues.

Cons

I was at Eide Bailly before it turned to EB. It became very bureaucratic, and they started to not care about their employees as much as they did before. It became a numbers game.

I'm glad to hear you were able to see and interact with a lot of clients and different accounting-related issues - that will be a great foundation for your career. I'm sorry to hear you felt the Firm didn't care about you as much after the merger. We try our best to allow offices to still have their local "feel" - but as with any company in rapid growth mode, there will likely be some changes. I wish you the best in your new career.
