Bad company culture was a big learning

Pros

I was attracted to the startup culture. I came from a company that provided free food and had good perks. So this was a neutral factor for me. I wanted to make an impact with my experience.

Cons

What I found was unhealthy politics and bad leadership. The company had no interest in employee’s general health and welfare. I’m glad I don’t work there anymore. My experience has had a very deep impact on how I see companies, specially becoz my current employer values me as an engineer and as a human, and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel inclusive and healthy.

- good benefits - free food/lunches - talented/good colleagues (if they are still there)

Cons

- the CEO - the product - the negative working environment - “motivating” employees with fear - obvious favoritism with certain employees

Pros

Smart hires and fat investments have created a plush environment where anything is possible because the budget is unconstrained.

Cons

Diversity is not tolerated - if you don't blend with the top, you're out, which makes it impossible for all but a few people at the top to flourish while their fake fan club below will never see the light of recognition.
