Pros

(1) Work from home option from time to time, (2) Annual bonus is nice, (3) Benefits are good - not great, but good, (4) Find the right team and the right boss and your job will be challenging, yet enjoyable.

Cons

(2) Occasional long hours, (2) Constant change with no clear reason as to the benefit before or after its implementation, (3) Too many meetings, (4) Lack of process results in last minute assignments and ultimately production support later since work was not done correctly the first time.

Pros

Anthem and its subsidiary Blue plans have the best franchise in the health insurance industry. Under current leadership they are starting to perform extremely well. Also, Indianapolis is a lovely city.

Cons

It is a very large company, with substantial politics involved in most major decisions. Also, they have been slow to embrace the overall trend in healthcare towards the retailization of health care.

Pros

Work from home opportunities, pretty laid back, promotes health lifestyles, ability to find other opportunities within the company, embraces various cultures and ethnicities, some paid benefits

Cons

Lack of qualified management, mass unprofessionalism, lack of training, very low morale in some areas, IT is a joke no one local all overseas with very little knowledge and desire to help you. Not many work at home opportunities for administrative staff. Compensation can be quite low and you have to fight for a fair wage. Bonuses are a joke unless you're in senior management. It can be difficult to achieve a work/life balance when work is constantly coming to you at all hours of the day and night. Often time work is outsourced to save the company money which in the end winds up being a big mistake as the outsourced workers hired are often not qualified to get the work done so the company then has to insource what they've just outsourced. Please learn to make better decisions.
