Poor leadership. Low pay. A corp that is more focused on the bottom line than it’s people.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to know that this is how you feel. As you must know, the world is at a defining moment where we are experiencing dramatic changes to our ecosystems, and the scientific consensus overwhelmingly points to human activity as a major contributing factor. As a company, Elsevier is a proud signatory of the Climate Pledge which comes with ambitious targets. This means that to meet our net-zero pledge, we have had to restrict our external travel to stay below 70%, and our internal travel to stay below 30% of our 2019 levels. To achieve this, we have had to move some customers' meetings to a digital setting rather than travel abroad. Our leadership team and employees are aligned in striving to create a great work environment for everyone. We are unified in our efforts to continue to build an environment that is connected, supportive, nurturing and good for business. Compensation is always a hot topic in any industry. Here at Elsevier, we benchmark our salaries externally to ensure we stay competitive.

Pros

The company tries to be very inclusive and diverse to foster an environment that allows growth.

Cons

It appears to be difficult to change jobs. Pay raises were below cost of living for a while. This year they tried to meet the cost of living increase.
