Thank you for your review. As a business, we operate in about 180 countries. We are passionate about positively impacting society and customers through our unique contributions, including access to information, advancement of science and health, protection of society, and fostering communities. However, with the business world changing constantly and so rapidly, virtually every established business feels the imperative to improve and innovate continuously. Sometimes, this leads to restructuring and change. However, we are known for supporting our people in challenging times.

Pros

I appreciate working alongside highly skilled individuals who are well-rounded amazing people at Elsevier. As a remote employee who participates in flexible working, I feel immensely capable of contributing to my workday with high-value outputs while I also care for my family and attend my children's events.

Cons

Salaries are below market value.

Thank you for your review. Compensation is always a hot topic in any industry. Here at Elsevier, we benchmark our salaries externally; we use both general and technology-specific benchmarks to ensure we stay competitive. We offer competitive rates plus an array of great benefits.

Pros

- dev days allow you to spend a day studying a tech thing that's hopefully relevant to your job. Not PTO, but similar, since no work tasks on that day - it's a corporation, so plenty of places to get help - christmas bonus - great work life balance (I know a professor who is a full time programmer here)

Cons

- pay is average. Not bad though - Tasks are unevenly distributed, so some teams work all day long and others not so much
