Thank you for your review. You stipulated that you worked for Elsevier for 20 years as a full-time employee but titled your review 'No job security'. We are confused. Our employees appreciate the job stability at Elsevier. However, with the business world changing constantly and so rapidly, virtually every established business in the world feels the imperative to improve and innovate continuously. Executives, managers and employees across our business work hard to figure out how to best and strategically address the genuine needs of our customers and partners globally.

Pros

Elsevier operates in a stable market and is very employee centric. I began working with them after they acquired my company and I feel like I’ve ended up in good hands.

Cons

Big ships turn slow and that is certainly the case with Elsevier. They are slow to adopt new tactics and adjust to trends. They also operate lean and if not for the culture I’d certainly be looking for equivalent jobs with more competitive pay.

Pros

Good work/life balance in certain parts of the organization. Elsevier has a culture of "doing the right thing", reinforced by current CEO.

Cons

Extremely political environment. Misaligned goals between teams and departments drives a lot of inefficiency. Strong direction from C-Suite gets lost and mutated in the middle-management layer.
