Nepotism in HR is norm and it rises to the level of toxic, unethical and possibly worse. The positive review about HR/Talent Acquisition is from a family member of HR leadership. The rules are different for friends and relatives, and if you don't fall into one of those categories you likely won't be there long.
The leaders have zero idea what they are doing. There is absolutely no long term planning. The president has little understanding of how you grow a business. Constant turn-over with hiring then laying off people the second things go bad (and they always do). Academic leader is not experienced and very condescending to other employees. They haven’t added new programming, but expect improved results none-the-less. Staff are extremely frightened with recent lay-offs as they seem to have gotten rid of some of their best people. The reputation in the industry is terrible which makes finding new work in higher education difficult.
