Approximately zero opportunities to "move up," as the only option to seek a "promotion," would be to apply to job openings announced to the public. These opportunities come up when someone quits, is terminated, or dies. Many management employees seem to lack basic people skills, let alone leadership ability. It's not what it used to be.
