Pros

* After COVID, ability to work from home without demands to be in the office * Great co-workers with a universal understanding that it is a mediocre company for professional growth, recognition and financial rewards * Relaxed pressure on performance so you can pace yourself * Great employee benefits including profit sharing * Annual reviews, while not impressive, offered some good feedback for personal and professional growth * Middle management understands the challenge to keep employees motivated while the competitive poaching and market salaries put a lot of pressure on them * Emerson has great name recognition * Competition has even more problems delivering than Emerson in some cases allowing Emerson to retain customers * Once inside the organization with a few years under your belt, even the poorest of performers hang on due to tenure

Cons

* CEO increased its own compensation 4x to about $16 Million (from $3.6 M) while ongoing layoffs during the 2 years of COVID - (sarcasm ON - what a way to suffer alongside your troops - sarcasm OFF) * While CEO quadrupled his salary, no raises given to general employees using the excuse that the market is down due to COVID * During COVID, leadership took a 10% pay cut while lower ranks took a 25% pay cut (and don't tell us that yours was for 6 months when ours netted to be more than that PLUS folks were terminated on top of the pay cut) * Salaries are below industry so folks are easily poached by other companies including competitors * Annual reviews and employee feedback are a not taken seriously * Publicly announcing that only certain ethnic and gender groups will be promoted in the future caused for many young talented individuals to exit the company to find professional success elsewhere causing a void and loss of talent * Good talent left and replacements are slow to become productive sometimes themselves not lasting long * Customers openly complain how Emerson blows deadlines * For a company that projects digital transformation/IIoT/etc to the market, the company itself is at an infancy level when it comes to digital maturity

Cons

All managers have been recently promoted into their roles. Little to no support or training. Management need interpersonal skills training.
