Pros

There is a friendly staff, good benefits, and they offer competitive pay rates. Emory really tries to take care of its employees.

Cons

It is run like a corporation. There is often confusion when one department tries working with another one. Emory tries to be stingy at times.

Pros

Atlanta is a nice city to live in. It is relatively easy to recruit people to Emory, albiet not superstars.

Cons

Emory medicine has slipped. It is in need of new leadership and vision. The current culture is that of mediocrity.

Pros

Emory is a very relaxed environment. Sometimes too much so, but it may be a good fit for you if that's what you're looking for. Excellent benefits package, with 6% matching, 3% even without employee contribution. Nearly free graduate level education for employees. Subsidized child care.

Cons

Pace... It may be a plus for some, but didn't work well for me. Slow adoption of latest technologies. (The university is still using ColdFusion in 2k11.) Difficult to get promotions because people simply do not leave.
