Pros

Emory has a nice campus, the people are pretty friendly, and the work is interesting (depending on what sort of work you do here...as a researcher, I find my work to be interesting)

Cons

The pay, as a post-doc, is very low compared to what I would be making if I had a job in industry

Pros

A very collaborative environment for a researcher trying to get some cutting edge research done. Very strong biomedical research and clinical research.

Cons

Does not have the same recognition as Harvard or Stanford. The medical insurance benefits for the dependents of graduate students not provided.

Pros

Great community, benefits and students!

Cons

You have to know someone in order to progress professionally. Positions are filled without being announced to employees. Good old boy/girl network in the extreme.
