Pros

Lots of smart, hardworking people Excellent benefits Excellent values at the institutional level

Cons

Soft-money side enterprise is merciless and mercenary, cares way more about bottom like than scholarship or students. Current lack of Federal funding for science makes soft-money medical research a house of cards. Its collapsing and leadership is oblivious.

Pros

Education, I guess. I'm not sure how great the education part was, but at least I didn't leave with the massive debt some people have after grad school.

Cons

Everything else. Seriously, the first year, I barely had enough left after paying rent to EAT. And we were told we weren't allowed to seek additional employment. It was fun.
