Pros

Pay seems to be competitive in the Atlanta area. They started paying better after COVID began because they kept losing qualified nurses.

Cons

The usual in a healthcare system: limited PTO for which you must use sick time, no paid parental leave policy, and no flexibility for working parents. I work in oncology, and it is a bureaucratic nightmare trying to schedule patients for chemo and procedures. There are way too many middle men who are understaffed, underpaid, and under-trained. I spend a majority of my time doing administrative tasks that could easily be accomplished if the support staff was better able to handle it.

Supportive workplace environment. Flexibility with parental leave. Strong faculty representation at university level.

Salary cuts for faculty during COVID while hiring high paid administrators.
