      Pros

      Excellent work/life balance as well as great benefits.

      Cons

      For me specifically, the division I worked for continuously added on more tasks to the workload, but compensation did not always increase (more work, but NO extra pay). Also, if commuting to the office, traffic can be HORRENDOUS!

      It seems like the higher ups do try to show appreciation for staff Cutting edge research Best University/Academic hospital in GA Okay benefits

      Cons

      Healthcare employees are worked very hard You can't quit one Emory job and get another job at Emory Definite hierarchy (MD at top, obviously) Good workers get taken advantage of Few perks Little middle management Strange management system in some departments (people have multiple bosses and it confuses things ) Poor hiring and onboarding process for University University and Healthcare side of Emory are kept far too separate Little appreciation for administration Stressful environment Poor patient scheduling People in power will get what they want - no checks and balances Traffic in area / parking / congestion You can make more money for your job elsewhere Will not respect your vacation time
