Pros

Important and meaningful mission to improve the world through education. A top ethically driven research University in the Southeast. Very socially active and socially conscious University. A huge sustainability program include state of the art water recycling facilities and the second largest LEED certified building footprint of any University. Flexible work schedules. Progressive array of employee learning opportunities, very mature Employee Assistance Program and WorkLife department. Many support programs to promote employee health. A lot of employees stay for a career. The University like many workplaces is going to experience a lot retirements in the next 5-10 years. Lot's of potential for advancement.

Cons

Work culture varies dramatically between Departments and Schools. Pockets of untrained managers who drive some employee turnover. Too many senior level people who have outdated views of workplace flexibility.
