Interesting projects and what used to be a wide variety of research topics
Some intellectual freedom to pursue bleeding-edge research and spin-off topics
Cons
Favoritism, nepotism, ageism, elitism
Time is managed by billable hours; almost impossible to take vacation or sick days
Desire to focus on IT-like products to homogenize workforce and minimize salaries
Company is top-heavy: too many director chiefs, few tribal councillors and too few Indians

Thank you for your feedback; we hope that you also shared this with company leaders when you were here and did not wait until leaving to share your thoughts. We certainly don't view our team members as cogs and we are often humbled by the knowledge and talent that our employees bring to the organization. It seems as though this was not a good cultural/personality fit and sometimes that is just to be expected. We wish you much success.
Efforts on the part of HR to build a positive culture were one of the best experienced in more than 20 years of professional experience. This resulted in an impressive array of team members - many of whom I would actively seek out to be on future teams.
Cons
Executive management suffers from "smartest people in the room" syndrome. That sought from team members at all levels is simply execution. Any debate / discussion that may have occurred came to be understood as largely pro forma as decisions almost invariably were pre-determined.
While this may have made for streamlined decision making it did not result in optimal outcomes. Further, the practice served to undermine the sense of being a valued team member. There was a clear delineation between those deemed trusted and therefore worthy of being listened to and those who were not.
