Pros
-Free drinks (coffee specifically was a lifesaver) -Customers were mostly awesome, once they got used to you/you could get them in and out of the store quickly -Shifts went by very quick -My manager instilled teamwork and set out clear goals for the day -Some coworkers made the shift both efficient and fun -If you're open to it, this is an excellent place to grow your social, conflict resolution, and time management skills -Overall working at 7-Eleven can provide you with endless opportunities to grow both professionally and personally... if you are open to it and try to see the good/teachable moment in every "bad" day
Cons
-Depending on your location, you may be the only person actually on the register -Some coworkers were not concerned with teamwork or working towards a common goal. -Training was very hands on (which is great) but was not implemented well. So I had to fail several times and teach myself -Often the only person responsible for all tasks in the store for hours at a time. You learn how to manage your time, but can be stressful -No breaks. Ever. Drinking copious amounts of coffee on an empty stomach to keep your energy levels high with no chance to use the bathroom? Horrible for your health -Customers that would ask ridiculous questions/requests. You learn to laugh it off, but can be a pain when you have a list of time sensitive tasks to accomplish that rests solely on your shoulders.
