Pros
If you enjoy being a people person, helping others, and have a lot of energy, then this fast-paced environment is a great place to work, especially if you enjoy a challenge. I spent at least a decade working there for those reasons. Managers make all the difference with employee satisfaction, if your'e lucky enough to have a good manager. Opportunities to advance are up to the individuals themselves, to progress at their own pace, and they are compensated appropriately.
Cons
Being a 24 hr convenient store all year round, means there will be competition between employees for time-off on long weekends and the holiday seasons. Other challenges include: dealing with toxic co-workers; slow progress on training matters, due to the non-stop working environment; and dealing with budgets that restrict the amount of employees to a minimum.
