I was 18 years old when I joined, my manager was really kind and protective. I remember when I faced a rude customer that was screaming at me, she was worried I would cry. Good place to learn value of money, and to learn to be understanding and kind to everyone.
Cons
Customers can be really mean!! My non local colleagues are severely underpaid. People really look down on you as a cashier. A 30 year old Abang that worked with me for a week borrowed my money and didn’t pay me back. I was super upset but my mum told me that he must’ve been in a bad financial situation to take money from an 18 year old. I used to cry not because of mean customers but the people I worked with didn’t seem to have a lot of money so I hope anyone who sees this please be kind to cashiers! Or anyone in customer service.
