Pros
I have great coworkers. We all are in similar positions so we make the best of what we can. Middle management in my department does not micromanage if you do your job. The company's financial stability is great.
Cons
The job is not terribly demanding but the pay is low compared to other companies and benefits are overall below average. No vacation your first year. I had intended to make a career here, however, management (at least in my department of THQ - I have heard stores are different)) does not promote growth. I just do my function until told to do something else. Any attempt to advance is brushed off. After a while it's hard to be motivated to continue to work hard with the low pay, long hours, lack of advancement, and benefits that are below average. I have begun taking on responsibilities well beyond my intended positions (such as training new employees while maintaining a more than full workload) with seemingly no career benefit. I have witnessed 3 separate instances of cherry picking for advancement while well qualified candidates (even more so than the chosen candidate) aren't given an opportunity to even apply. One employee was many hours late and left every day for months before getting a reprimand and was then given a company car to use. So despite my desires to make a career here, I have begun to search for new employment.
