Pros

Popcorn & Movies. Cool people. Security in front is really nice. Benefits are decent.

Cons

There are more VPs, Directors, Senior Directors, Assistant Directors, and Director's Directors than actual staff to do the work. Everyone's EGO in IT is flying high. The number of meetings for everything are a MAJOR productivity slowdown. Who actually does the work since everyone is in meetings? Nothing gets done because half of IT Dept is in meetings, then there is the follow up meeting, then the pre meeting to the next meeting. I mean you would think this place had 200,000 employees. The perception of the ENTIRE company is that IT basically sucks, and the management just yells at the staff, threatens their jobs instead of developing them. 15 year employees just being let go without proper replacement etc. I mean I could go on

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
