Pros

Smart people. Great atmosphere. Lots of very talented folks. If your'e a team player, you will go far. They are very supportive of a work/life balance as well.

Cons

Freelances are called "non-employees". They work the same if not more hours than the "employees". They do the same amount of work. However, they are excluded from meetings, unable to have benefits, and have to fight like dogs for a the last bone to get a staff job. Once you get a staff job, moving up can be difficult. Jobs that are open are seldom posted, but rather people are hand picked to be promoted into that job.

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
