Pros

One of the best reasons to work for A&E Networks is that it ispresents a good opportunity to work in the television industry. The television brands are good. For a junior person, new to the television business, one can learn how the television business works and how the various departments and functionalities work together.

Cons

Employee morale is poor. People don't seem happy with senior management. Senior management should be more supportive of employees. Senior management either takes employees for granted or is simply isolated. A&E Networks is not a pleasant place to work. People feel stressed and unappreciated in many areas.

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
