Pros

Various cable networks under one roof. Also close knit is groups of departments makes it nice however only if you fit in. Even if you do fit in, much of that comraderie is filled with dismay of the company or other employees in the organization.

Cons

The diligent efforts of very capable employees get zero recognition. Promotions are handed out to people within in we circles. Many times these promoted individuals lack the competency for the job. A+E used to be a place where you'd stay for your entire career, but they do not value their hard working employees. If you are looking to find a quality position and or career in the entertainment industry, don't work here.

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
