Pros

clean, modern feeling building with good shared spaces, weekly mezzanine happy hours, and a cafe. the benefits are super comprehensive.

Cons

employees at the bottom rungs of the company are overworked and under compensated, both in salary and learning opportunities, while the VP level grows more bloated every year with the type of people who look good on paper but lack even the most basic management (or cooperation) skills; bad managers are never challenged to change, and the good ones have to work around the bad ones at every turn. every department seems to be working toward a different goal so collaboration is tough, and top-down communication is nonexistent. there is very little acknowledgement of success or proper accountability for failure. the paranoid politicking amid higher-ups is flatly ridiculous and their bad-faith negativity trickles down to everyone in the company - except maybe the midtown office security staff, who are lovely.

Pros

I worked on the Content Creation team which is primarily made up of contract employees. Work is remote, but plenty of opportunities to get together in office and meet other people and socialize afterwards. Everyone on the team is great to work with, there are efficient systems in place and it is a well-oiled machine! I've done two contract rounds with them and am looking forward to my next one.

Cons

No opportunities to convert from contract to staff. There are a lot of things that aren't available to contract employees that are only available to staff (certain meetings, resources, etc). Contract employees are limited to 18 months, and then are required to take a year off.

Pros

Some very nice people; had good benefits although those are being cut back because of financial uncertainty

Cons

Fading industry, frequent layoff cycles with hints of more to come, the company is trying to innovate but some divisions are slow to modernize other than throwing around silly talking points at meetings.
