Pros

Employee Development, No working on Sundays. Good insurance and White Glove supplemental. Some members are really cool and genuinely take and interest in you and build relationships. The training I had felt rushed, now training seems more comprehensive. Annual bonus. They attempt to be fair about scheduling. They make you a full week of every year. (I list this as a pro, although I would prefer to take more 3 and 4 day weekends). You can move up if you are patient even if you lack a college degree.

Cons

Moving towards a sales culture, Management does not turnover so their are no fresh ideas and limited advancement opportunity. As an employee you will never be right or get backed up if a member has a complaint. Call center employees only had 3 days of training (as opposed to 2 weeks for everyone else). Salary on the lower side for the industry. Annual bonus is maxed out so if the Credit Union does well your bonus may be reduced (actually happened in 2012). Very secretive organization does everything on a need to know basis, however you routinely find things out after you needed to know them. There are many employees who have been "raised in the Credit Union" and a majority of them 75% have never had a position at another financial institution. This creates a lot of blank stares and "I'll get back with you" when a suggestion is made to change a policy or procedure.

Pros

Great support system and training to get you started. Great resources and although they hold you back for a while and have to "babysit" you, its for the better until you are fully ready.

Cons

Health insurance price increased and is barely covered by the raise they are giving this year. With the price of inflation you are losing money continuing to work in this position. Bank of America tellers are now earning 25 per hour. Can A+ make this a reality to help cover their employees cost of living? I know many employees who are struggling to survive on this salary, and they even have to work mulitple jobs to keep their family aloat. And are now stuggling more with the health plan increases? That doesn't seem like it should be the case.
