Pros

It was a great place when I started.

Cons

As time went on, situations like I will describe happened with increasing regularity, and I realized there was no future here for someone who looks like me. The CIO asked us our opinions on a politically charged topic during a department meeting. During the conversation, he blurted out that I was a straight white male, so my opinion on the topic was uninformed. The subject involved sexuality, and the CIO did not know if I was straight or not. I was the only white male in my department, and I have no idea what anyone else's sexuality was/is (nor do I care). That it mattered to the CIO (a black male of a sexuality I have no idea) was troubling, and only one of several examples of such soft bigotry. There was no future for me there. Be mindful of such a culture.

Pros

Great support system and training to get you started. Great resources and although they hold you back for a while and have to "babysit" you, its for the better until you are fully ready.

Cons

Health insurance price increased and is barely covered by the raise they are giving this year. With the price of inflation you are losing money continuing to work in this position. Bank of America tellers are now earning 25 per hour. Can A+ make this a reality to help cover their employees cost of living? I know many employees who are struggling to survive on this salary, and they even have to work mulitple jobs to keep their family aloat. And are now stuggling more with the health plan increases? That doesn't seem like it should be the case.
