Pros
It is deeply satisfying to work for a company that helps families in need, and I'm surrounded by brilliant, driven colleagues who share my passion for our collective mission. A Place For Mom challenges me to become a better version of myself every day, and I'm very grateful for that.
Cons
To continue to foster a dynamic, collaborative culture, I think it would be helpful if there were more opportunities for remote employees to gather in person. This could look like 'working weeks' where a team of remote employees gets together to work together in person for a week, or this could look more like 'official' company off-sites with programming and break-out rooms, etc. Either way, it seems like these sorts of initiatives tend to pay dividends by increasing the effectiveness of collaboration. Could be worth trying out!
