Pros

Good benefits decent pay,

Cons

Most departments have very little turnover. This makes it difficult to move up. Even with expansion because they only expansion is to merge or purchase smaller staffed operations. (Clubs). Many management positions are posted only because HR/legal make them, they usually have a person selected internally for each position you know the ole boys club. This intern makes the company incestual and new points of view are never introduced into the company. I work with many 20 -30-year employees who moved up from the mail room over time who for example are afraid to call out or hold poor performing vendors for poor service or pricing because they don't think that is productive. Very strange

Pros

Opportunities to travel Good training and education Good coworkers and clientele

Cons

Low hourly rate with promises of monthly bonuses which were impossible goals to meet Frequently understaffed with constant interuptions from time wasting calls and walkins making workload unmanageable and not allowed to stay late or take work home Never closing for even a foot of snow Too many mandatory trainings and after hours and weekend client travel events to host Very stressful and disheartening managing. Personally was frequently listed as top 10 sale of the week for whole AAA club Alliance, built a high end repeat clientele booking 20-50k trips with preferred vendors but still wasn't enough to ever qualify for the bonus. More praise and bonuses given to employees who signed more people up for an AAA visa. In 30 years as a travel agent I never had that volume of sales but I was making $18.50/hr. Less money than 20 years previous and got $1.50 total raise after 6 years. Stayed longer than I should've because of awesome appreciative clientele that AAA makes impossible to take with you thanks to signing them all up with AAA CCs which got them $1000s in vouchers to apply.
