Pros
Benefits and pay potential are higher than an agency producer
Cons
Good insurance agents will be thrown under the bus by territory leaders managers and trainers looking to make name for themselves. Don't think you're an exception to the rule. Major micromanagement by people red knuckling their desks watching your quote and sales reports. It will inhibit your sales. The managers do not trust agents like they should. Culture of fear driven down by the very top. Lots of condescension. No really good business people to mentor under. Not a lot of room for advancememt unless you're willing to brow beat people and break the rules to "win". No real team atmospheres in branches. Some branches are run by the agents. Underwriters are nice but will reject some business that qualifies. Very uninspired and butt kissy midwest region. Needs more worker bees and role models. Too much underlying racism in member facing chairs. The products are for everyone and some people should be reminded. Many days I ask myself if the awesome products are worth bringing consumers into this particular lions den. I worry about how they'll be treated when I leave.
