Their India sales director, If you are wondering how bad leadership thrive in corporate environment, this is your textbook example. This individual leading sales was a walking contradiction: no understanding of market, no clarity on strategy and completely incapable of taking decisive action. Instead of owning the business, he is floating around in a haze of meetings, working from home, working from coffee shop, uses corporate jargon that means absolutely nothing. this person can run business only on discounted price, all he know - no value creation. real growth is not in focus, all he do is acting, using office as theatre looking busy without actually doing or making impacts, few days in office and turning the office into a stage where he could act 'OVERLOADED' just for OPTICS. The most ironic part- he got promoted and awarded 'best director' got huge incentive but facts are volume shrunk under his watch while pressure on team increased, he made target without logic and disappear when it comes to accountability. he will not pick calls even from customers because he is acting busy. when you really want to take call on contract he can not give the clarity. he can and will book at high discounts but when team will ask for any strategic customer he will not revert, he will not answer call from team and from customer. his award sends a clear message -in some organizations, perception beats results. For the sake of the team still stuck under such incapable leader and for the health of the business itself, this review actually needs to reach global leadership. award should be earn by impact not by noise. this kind of leader is doing real damage - to morale, to performance and to the brand. AAK is a very good company but this sales director is a disaster. How long AAK will allow him work from home/coffee shop.
