Pros

Union pay, benefits, miles when you get them, some equipment, don't have to wear uniforms, veteran drivers help new drivers alot if they need it

Cons

Don't mess up 1 time or you are history, sometimes dispatch plays favorites but you still get some miles, some drivers kiss butt bad and some management is two faced

Pros

Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

Cons

Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
