Pros
Upper management has worked their way up through the ranks so they really care about the company. ABF cares deeply about their employees and expectations are very realistic for sales. The company is excellent about not micro managing their employees and allows sales to run their territory like its their own business.
Cons
ABF's union structure makes it the highest cost carrier in the industry. This costs the company business because it cannot compete price wise on certain deals. Some of the people in the corporate office are out of touch with what takes place in the field. ABF has a very strict market based pricing structure and mandates competitive documentation to get pricing for customers. This can be a very frustrating obstacles for sales.
